16oz can poured into a pint
A- pours jet black in color with a one-finger creamy khaki head that reduces to a ring around the glass
S- roasted barley gives aromas of chocolate, char and coffee. Undertones of vanilla, caramel and anise
T- roasted malt up front gives notes of chocolate, charred malt, chocolate and black licorice. Mid-palate gives a hint of vanilla before finishing with more roasted malt that lingers of chocolate and char
M- medium body with low carbonation leads to a flat mouthfeel that continues into the finish
O- the nitro aspect was virtually non-existent, but a tasty dry Irish, nonetheless

Stoutly dark with a large beige head and a small amount of lacing. Malty aroma of coffee and chocolate but no discernable hops. Smooth and dry on the palate, yielding to bittersweet chocolate and an underlying earthiness. Medium-to-full bodied mouthfeel with modest carbonation.

You don't see a ton of smaller breweries tackle this style so often, so it was worth a single for sure. Tall boy can needs a slow pour for a massive creamy brown head. Mild coffee and roasted notes form the aroma. The flavor has a nice initial roasted coffee direction but this gets skewed as earthy and woody notes permeate and give a definite smokiness in the finish. The texture is smooth and supportive of the flavor. Fairly impressive complexity for a fairly rustic style. I was originally worried that the abv was a little high for the style, but it didn't come into play, at least not from a pejorative viewpoint.

From the bottom of the can: "02/25/2020 09:45"
Appearance: The body of the beer is black and it has a tightly-packed light khaki head. Although the can states "NITRO" it did not have a cascade effect when pouring. It has moderate head retention with some breaks across the surface over time. No lacing.
Aroma: It has a pleasant chocolate scent with a hint of dark roasted coffee.
Taste: Up front there is a burnt wood flavor with a bit of pine. Towards the middle of the mouth it has a bit of burnt caramel flavor; not necessarily sweet tasting just a more flavorful burnt sugar character. There is a note of coffee to the beer.
Mouthfeel: It is dry and very easy to drink. It has a smooth, medium body with a mild roasted bitterness. It has a thin texture without any real carbonation. The can states that it is "NITRO" so it could be expected.
Overall: The beer is pleasant and very drinkable. It has very good flavors and aromas. I would drink it again and I would recommend it, with the caveat that it does not seem to behave like a standard nitro can, but it is better than many nitro stouts on the market.

Almost black with ruby highlights and a creamy mocha-colored head. Nice nose of malts and a hint of smoke. Hits the palate with a medium fullness. Flavors of bittersweet chocolate, wood, and a hint of fruit and smoke. Smooth and silky with a hint of earthy hops in the dried-downed finish. Beautiful beer -- I could drink this endlessly. O'Connor knocks this one out of the park.

From the pint can, it pours a very dark clear black with some slight reddish tinge and a modest nitro thick light brown head that reduces to a thin layer. In the mouth, it is smooth and creamy with the taste of black and roasted malt. In the nose, it is the same. Very nice!

5 oz pour on tap. A fantastic nitro Irish dry stout. The appearance is an opaque black cascading nitro pour. Aroma and taste feature dark roasted malts, coffee, bitter chocolate, and vanilla. Complex and flavorful. Mouthfeel is smooth but not at all watery, perhaps a function of the elevated 6.3% abv - yet no alcohol is detectable. Overall an excellent beer.

A: Pours an opaque yet still clear jet black in color with moderate amount of fine active carbonation (nitrogenation) rising along the edges of the glass and faint dark cola brown colored highlights. The beer has a two finger tall dense creamy dark tan head that slowly reduces to a large patch of medium thick film covering the entire surface of the beer and a medium thick ring at the edges of the glass after the cascade. Light amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Moderate aromas of lightly roasted malts with minimal amounts of carbonation as well as some light aromas of coffee and hints of nuttiness. Light aromas of earthy hops.
T: Upfront there is a light to moderate flavor of lightly roasted malts with minimal amounts of sweetness. That is followed by light flavors of coffee and a hint of nuttiness. Finally there are some very light flavors of earthy hops in the finish. The beer has a just shy of moderate amounts of roasty bitterness which lingers through the finish.
M: Light bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Smooth, almost creamy with a hint of thin/watery notes towards the finish.
O: Easy to drink and enjoyable with well hidden alcohol but I might have preferred a little more smoothness and creaminess from the nitro.

A: The beer is jet black in color. It poured with a quarter finger high tan head that has excellent retention properties and consistently left a short head covering the surface.
S: Light aromas of dark and roasted malts are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell and has lots of flavors of dark malts with notes of roasted malts. There is a light amount of bitterness.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied, airy and somewhat smooth on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is very easy to drink but seems like it could have had a lot smoother and creamier mouthfeel with the nitrogen.
Serving type: nitro-can
