There doesn't appear to be a date on the can.
Appearance: The body is completely opaque and a dull beige-orange. The medium-sized head is a creamy texture and white with good retention. It leaves nice sheets of lacing on the glass. It is a classic New England style Double IPA appearance.
Aroma: It smells like ground grain flour and a light hint of tangerine. There is a touch of alcohol character. The fresh grain aroma is nice but the hops are a bit subdued.
Taste: Up front there is a very light touch of pineapple skin flavor and a touch of grapefruit. Towards the middle there is a lot of grain flour flavor with some alcohol. A light bit of cooked cabbage in the middle as well. Not much towards the back of the palate but the aftertaste is more grain flour and a touch of grapefruit pith.
Mouthfeel: It is very smooth and very full bodied. Carbonation feels good. It drinks well. The can states that this is "8% ALC. BY VOL." and the alcohol is noticeable but it doesn't hamper drinkability. The highlight here is the smoothness. It has a mild hop bitterness.
Overall: The can states that it is a "DOUBLE INDIA PALE ALE" and it is clearly in the New England Style format of a Double IPA. As a whole it is pretty average when it comes to aroma and flavor. It is similar to what many other breweries are putting out as an average attempt. It isn't something I am likely pick up again. I don't really recommend it unless you're curious about the Hip Hop Anonymous series of beers.
