Appearance: Deep black in color, with a large tan head, which retains superbly, with thick, unbroken lacing.
Aroma: Rich, smoky malt aroma, with pronounced notes of coffee and bitter chocolate, and a faint hop presence.
Taste: Opens with rich notes of coffee, followed by bitter chocolate, these carry to the end of the taste. Late in the taste, a slight smoky note appears, and a hint of hop bitterness, which lingers past the end of the taste.
Mouth feel: Smooth and velvety, although seems a touch thin for the style.
Drinkability/notes: A very nice example of the style, quite pleasing.
