I can't disagree with the previous rating too much about the taste, just about my impression of it...
The color is black with a very decent tan head.
Smell is slightly coffee with mostly roasted black malt standing out.
Taste is about the same, not quite coffee, not quite chocolate- creamy roasted grain with some hops to balance it out on the finish. A very quaffable porter. Medium bodied mouthfeel.
Not nearly a dense or complex porter, but a very drinkable one.

AJ Porter has a great appearance, but thats about it. The color is almost black with a average-sized, creamy head. The aroma is almost nothing, with just a little dark malt roastiness. The taste is pretty weak also, just bland dark malts accompanied by a light roastiness. Mouthfeel is very flat and watery, which makes the flavor problems much worse. I love porters and was sorely disapointed here. This is the worst porter I've had by a wide margin.
