The beer pours a hazy harvest gold, topped with a giant frothy white head. Good lacing, sticking to the glass in clumps. Bubbles swiftly rise to maintain the generous head. Excellent retention.
Aroma is lightly malty, with a bit of cardboardy/winey oldness. It poured with that overflowing old beer head, so i was expecting this. No apparent hops, save a wierd earthy stale hop aroma. Bready and yeasty.
The flavor is light and malty, with a powerful yeasty/bready/nutty flavor throughout the sip. Very carbonated, seeming to froth up in your mouth. The beer is definitely old, but not really too far gone. Still drinkable. A bit of toastiness, very subdued. No fruitiness, with very little hopping, mainly an earthy hoppiness in the end. Very little bitterness. Winey and a bit cardboardy in the finish. I'll have to try and get a fresh bottle of this some other time, for a proper review.

Appearance: hazy, light yellow, apparent carbonation, with a lush, lacey and crystaline white head.
Aroma: spicy, dry, somewhat citric, with a touch of honey.
On the tongue, tingly and tasty, smooth and light.
Body is very light, drinkability through-the-roof.
A very nice rendition of the kolsch style with such a vibrant spark that it reminded me of a Belgian golden ale, at times.
A perfect delight!
Big thanks to UncleJimbo for providing!

12 oz amber bottle; some sediment in the bottle; label says it is made in the "Kölsch tradition".
This Kölsch style ale poured a hazy, light yellow color, with a huge, towering white foam head that only very slowly settled and left good lace on the glass. The smell was citrusy (lemon) with grain and malt and a trace of fruity esters. The taste was tart: lemon, citrus, wheat/grain, and light hops. The mouthfeel was crisp and sharp and a tad sour. There was a lingering tartness on the tongue and some hop bitterness in the finish. This light bodied and refreshing ale was fairly refreshing.

Is this beer really a golden ale? Hazy gold color. Aroma offers hints of banana and mixed fruit. Pours with a huge white head and should come with a warning to pour in a weiss or oversized glass. Slight lemony zest upfron, dry finish that is refreshing. A confused beer; more like a very weak american wheat.

Presentation: 12 oz brown long neck with a blurb about the beer on the label, no freshness date.
Appearance: Hazy beige straw colour with a bubbly carbonation that forms the crowning white head, decent head retention.
Smell: Doughy aroma of malt flour and yeast, fruity and almost wine nose … similar to a white wine.
Taste: Light bodied with a crisp and semi assertive carbonation. Sharp yet clean hop bitterness cuts all the way through the brew, good malt base that is not too sweet that has hints of biscuits and a mild husky flavour. Nut like yeast flavour becomes a little too predominant however the hops do clean it up a bit. Mildly fruity with a vague vinous character while the hop flavour leaves traces of black pepper and herbs. Slightly dry finish, some sweetness is still left over in the after taste.
Notes: A decent brew, drinkable and does not rock the boat. Calm down the yeast character of this brew and I could be an excellent American Golden Ale (Kölsch).
