Appearance - Pours a warm honey amber with two to three fingers of bubbly white head that fizzes away slowly.
Smell - Tropical and citrus fruits (pineapple, mango, passionfruit, orange, papaya), touch of peach/nectarine, tropical/citrus hops, bready malts, hint of caramel.
Taste - Sour tanginess of the tropical/citrus fruits as noted above, but well-balanced with the bready malt backbone. Light bitterness from the hops.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Sticky dry finish.
Overall - This is a very impressive sour IPA and I can appreciate that the sourness of this beer doesn't make you pucker too hard. A well-balanced beer with the right amount of tartness and tropical fruit flavour. And the adorable puffins on the can won my heart.
