I Due Mastri s.n.c. “Birra Fiorentina Artigianale - Bionda”
330 ml brown glass bottle, “Best Before: 27/12/2020” and sampled on 25/11/2019
€3,70 @ Pegna dal 1860, Firenze, IT
Look: Hazy yellow gold body beneath a short head of bright white foam. The head dissipates almost immediately and leaves no lacing behind.
Smell: Wheaty malt with a delicate apple like fruitiness.
Taste: The malt is beady and wheaty with a mild sweetness and a delicate touch of acidity. Some mild, background hops can lend a touch of herbs and grass to it, and a moderate bitterness balances it, leaving it to finish dry. A touch of fermenting apple lingers shortly.
Feel: Medium to medium light in body, and delicately effervescent with a fine-bubbled carbonation that seems natural, it lends a delicate caress to the palate.
Overall: While not particularly special in any way it does have a certain charm to it. It certainly appears “artigianale”, and it brings to mind a farm and golden fields of wheat and barley.
