Pitiful excuse for a beer. A small fraction better than the Pale Ale, but obviously this company doesn't understand what beer drinkers diagnosed with Celiac pine for when they think about the beer they miss so much they used to be able to drink before big corporations changed what they put in their food and beverage products. I hope this company goes bankrupt.

I had a colleague who is gluten-free and I told her that I would keep my eye out for G-F beer options and report back to her on my findings. In the interim, I retired from that job and I still have the beers awaiting review.
From the Bottle: "Truly Enticing"; "Gluten Free"; "Ale Made From Sorghum and Brown Rice Extract"; "New Planet Beer chooses to support organizations that help our planet."
I was kind of anxious to Pop! the cap on this one as it was only one of the last two from this company that I had not yet reviewed. There was a loud release of CO2 so I was wary as I began my initial pour. I need not have been as although I still got three-plus fingers of fizzy, tawny head with limited retention, it was nothing that I had not seen before from their beers. I still have no idea why the Blonde Ale was so foamy. Color was Deep Amber/Light Copper to Copper (SRM = > 13, < 17) with NE-quality clarity. Nose had the now-familiar antiseptic astringency, like witch hazel, probably from the sorghum. Mouthfeel was thin, but highly carbonated. The taste was very sharp and astringent. It was not really adherent to the style, but it was much like the other beers from this company. I could not taste much other than its medicinal sharpness. Finish was dry and astringent, but without much else going for it. I have said before that I am not the intended audience for these G-F beers, but still, I would not foist this on anyone. Ugh.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
