aka Opat Světlý speciál 13
Served in a Opat mug in CZ
A - golden; clear with no visible carbonation; head is lessmwhite (more tan) than expected given liquid
3.5
Aroma: very nice and very sweet malt with trace of hops
T - more distinctive than the aroma, this beer has a fine bitter-sweet mix, with a nice flavorful hit of light toasted malt and hops that passes quickly leaving a lasting but mild hoppy finish. Very nice!
M - medium-light body; crisp;
O - my first Opat is a winner. This tasted great by itself; with some trepidation, i tried it with some sweets that came to the table before i finished (vanilla ice cream; cinamon-sour cherry-caramel parfait) with which the beer paired remarkably well! This brewery makes many flavored beers -- including pepper, cherry & apricot -- that i am now even more eager to try.
