Tried on draft at Crane Room in Neshannock, PA. Light and refreshing. Slight in nose and tartness, but excellent palate cleanser and true to style. Strawberries shine through, and fit pretty well. Wasn't sure that strawberry would be the best fit, but was a welcome addition to this crisp, clean brew. Worth a try, and I will seek out in the warmer months.

Cloudy light amber with a petered-out head of off-white.

Tart, jammy strawberry, mild lactic spunk, tangy wheat, lemon, and mild raw mushroom. Pretty decent.

Nice and tart. Strawberry comes off unripe, yet fortified. Very mild tart berry flavor. Lemony, wheaty, and slightly medicinal. They really nailed it down. Finishes with some phenol flashiness. Mild Brett character. Super stuff.

Jaw mushing and quenching. Mild pucker. Smooth and light-medium. Carbonation is appropos.

Awesome representation. Would order six, if I could.

Pours a dark straw color with a fizzy white head. The aroma is sour with a light fruit element. As it warms the nose carries more strawberry. In the taste, some nice sour mash tartness going on here with fresh strawberries. Has the taste of an unripe strawberry in berliner Weisse form of course. Lively on the palate with medium carbonation on a light medium body. Overall, this is a refreshing twist on the Berliner Weisse style in the states. This style of fruiting Berliners has been done in Germany for centuries, and works well here. Has mainstream potential.

Served on tap in a chalice glass

Appearance – The beer pours a very hazy yellowish-straw color with a one finger head of white foam. The head has a decent level of retention, slowly fading to leave some light streaky lace on the sides of the glass.

Smell – The aroma is quite funky with lots of grass and a sour lemon smell. Along with these aromas are big aromas of hay and wheat as well as some smells of strawberry and some very light orange aromas.

Taste – The taste begins sour lemon flavor mixed with a light strawberry tastes. The sour really dominates the strawberry producing a very tart flavor upfront. A little bit of wheat is upfront as well, but again this is rather light in nature in comparison to the sour. Flavors of hay and grass, while a bit lighter upfront gain more and more potency as the flavor advances to the end. With an increase in the sour, even more toward the end, one is left with a very sour and rather funked flavor to linger on the tongue.

Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the thinner and more strongly carbonated side. The higher carbonation and thinner body are nice for the funky and sour flavors of the brew and even with the mouth puckering flavors, makes for a more refreshing feel.

Overall – A rather sour but still drinkable Berliner Weiss with just some hints of strawberry mixed within. An interesting try, but nothing too exceptional.
