Full Pint Brewing Super Wheat fruit spiced ale
6 ABV., 18-20 IBU(as said by the brewery)
I had this on tap at the Full Pint's Wild Side Pub in Lawrenceville, Pittsburgh, P.A. The staff told me that they make very small batches for restaurants sometimes and this one was made for the Industry Public House(another local Pittsburgh pub/eatery). It is brewed with basil and blueberries. They currently have it on tap at the wild side pub.
Look: Golden body, very hazey and cloudy, I can't see anything through the glass. As the name suggests I gather that they brewed it with alot of wheat malts. The head is white with lacing on the glass.
Nose: Bam, it hits yah with the basil right off the mark. It is like standing over top of a bazil plant and taking a wiff. That was the most prominent smell and maybe the only thing I got.
Taste: Basil, basil and more basil. They said that they brew it with blueberries as well, but I can not get any of that here. It was a surprise, but very yummy and wonderful. It is definitely a sweet basil bouquet of taste along with wheat malts, but there are not alot of other typical wheat beer characteristics.
Feel: The feel on this is pretty light and I felt spritzery, which is fine for the flavor of the beer.
Overall: The carbonation and the body go well with the basil and come together for a nice refreshing light summer type of brew. It is a bit odd that they brewed this with blueberry also and you can't taste that at all. Maybe they could do something to help bring that out in their next batch? I think the basil just over powered this ale. Basil is not one you associate with beer, but after having this one I think other brewers should make more ales with basil in it. Good job on this one Full Pint!
