The winner of our third Troublemaker competition, Ormeau Dark was the work of soon-to-be husband and wife team Chris Todd and Moira Lewis. This rich and dark stout was brewed with cocoa in the boil to give the beer a cappuccino twist.

On cask at the Irish Craft Beer Festival, 2013.

Chocolate black with a creamy sepia head that lasts to the end.
Cocoa, coffee and ash on the nose.
Blackberry, chocolate, a roasty hit and branchy hops.
Carob and cherry stone finish and drying linger.
Smooth, medium, creamy and chewy.

Superbly balanced, deep and round. Smoothness from the oats comes through strongly. Deserving winner of the NHC Hombrew/annual Troublemaker competitions.
