Decadent and complex while remaining wholly refreshing and drinkable. This stout is brewed with milk sugars and chocolate to give rich flavours and body that goes down smooth. Taste of chocolate and smooth mouthfeel, due to the additions of dark chocolate and milk sugars (lactose) respectively. While dark, rich and decadent this beer finds balance and subtlety in its lightness and drinkability. Great for matching with sweeter dishes and intense desserts.

Pours an onyx black color with a huge, stable mohagony colored head.
Smells of sugary whipped cream, garden herbs and grainy, bakers chocolate accompanied toffee.
Has a light and smooth mouthfeel with a surprising silkness to it, together with a late, convincing effervescence.
Tastes of bitter chocolate, a note of molasses and noble, bitter hops, wrapped up by caramel and dried leaves. Offers a smooth creaminess then, highlighted by bitter lime zest and opposing milk chocolate, finding their balance in an intense peak on the back end of the tongue. Finishes with a lighter sugar coating, additional herbs and a maintaining softness, pointing out the strong headed hoppiness in this perfectly well.
No way this is just another low ABV beer by this brewery clocking in just under five percent, while revealing an astonishing flavor intensity and complexity. Fantastic, well working milk stout all the way.

Dark brown, light brown foam, beautiful.
Note of cappuccino and coffee, some milk, but not too much. A hint of chocolate.
Same notes in the taste, smooth and pleasant, coffee, cappuccino.
Quite short aftertaste, more chocolately.
Pleasant and easy drinkable.

Had this when I went to Ireland. Its so good !! I wish I could get it in the USA. Bold and dark, great foamy head, tastes of dark chocolate but not too sweet. It's like Guiness with a little extra kick.

De Labirratorium. En copa de pinta inglesa de Ikea. Estudiando. Una milk stout correcta. Ligera y suave pero con buen cuerpo y agradable notas cafetosas. El toque láctico quizas se queda algo corto, echándosele en falta mayor presencia, pero es una birra que te terminas sin darte cuenta

look: thin beige head, small bubbles, lacing, the beer is black as night and rather elegant looking.
smell: not too much going on with the nose, coffee, sugary sweetness, milk chocolate, raisins.
taste: quite nice, coffee and chocolate come through, along with sweet milk, smoky, tasty.
feel: full mouthfeel, lightly carbonated, got a warmth to it, syrupy.
overall: a real calming, warming beer, most pleasant.

Can. Deep brown. Frothy tan head.
Aroma of well roasted malt, charred toast with distant hints of leafy hops. Light smoke.
Tastes of molasses and coffee. Initial sweetness makes way for a burnt bitter completion.
Medium body. Well carbonated.
Standard stout.

Had on tap. More smoke in smell and taste than expected, but goes well with dark more bitter fruit, like raisin and prune, and the chocolate malts base. Little unbalanced, and has some anise and booze peeping through at times, but fine all around, especially if you like a sweeter milk chocolate element in the taste
