Appearance: Arrives with a hint of ruby highlights amidst the black liquid; the frothy tan head webs the glass with lacing
Smell: Roast, molasses and prune
Taste: Roast and molasses, up front, with the prune arriving in the middle; honeyed sweetness adds another dimension, after the swallow, though the finish has a lot of roast
Mouthfeel: Full bodied with moderate carbonation and some warmth in the gullet
Overall: Differing from some of the other RIS beers in the Trail Magic series, #7 is aged in Jack Daniels barrels and blended with some of the Trail Magic #1; blending the beer with a two year old beer adds some depth and old ale elements
