The tenth in our Trail Magic Ale(tm) series, is a Tropically Hopped Abby Ale aged with Plums. In our search for solace in the wild places that surround us, a desire to explore the spiritual side of the Smoky's evolved. This resulted in the creation of this monastic brew to capture the sacred essence of the Great Smoky Mountains.

Very good!!! Pours a clear, bright apricot color into my Chimay goblet. Medium size bubbly white head with good retention. Aroma is fruit (the plums no doubt), lots of Belgian yeast and alittle candi sugar. This is pretty strong Dubbel with a more robust flavor than most. A little on the sweet side, with the candi sugar but a solid fruity and yeast flavor. The strength of the flavor reminds me of a Tripel, but not the apples and pears fruitiness. THis one is more dark fruit. Mouthfeel is solid, rich with a little alcohol warming but not much. This is one of my favorite Dubbels and another winner from Nantahala,

On tap at the brewpub in NC.
Clear amber body with a durable, off-white head that leaves ample sticky lacing.
Aroma: slightly funky ripe soft fruits.
Flavor: Largely follows the aroma. Lightly tart and sweet.
Feel: excellent. Smooth, medium body with just the right level of soft carbonation.

Opaque orange brown body with a sudsy cream cap and moderate lacing. Smell really works with tropical fruits meeting big plum, candi sugar and belgian yeast. Taste is more monotone with mango, pineapple, and plum dominating, yeast on finish is a nice compliment, tasty. As unorthodox as the flavor palate is, the feel still has the velvet smoothness with lush elevated yeast, brighter but still full, a fun twist. Unlike anything I have had before

Very nice plum and fruit notes in the taste and smell. Hops are nice and tropical with a mango note to them. Body is fairly refreshing. Definitely recommend.
