"A classic German style hefeweizen that pours straw gold and hazy. The suspended yeast provides a banana and clove like flavor that helps to round our the bready wheat malt."

I purchased a growler of Summer Wheat from Bruisin Ales in Asheville, NC. The beer poured cloudy yellow/orange with very little head to it, which was quite disappointing. The smell carried a lot of citrus tones, and was very reminiscent of lemon. Later, I actually paired it with a lemon chicken meal and the tastes worked wonderfully together.

The taste its unremarkable for the standard wheat, but it is great as an afternoon/evening cool down beer (not to high in ABV, light on taste). It definitely is a summer beer.

Picked up a growler of this at the Nantahala Outdoor Center in Wesser, NC. A pleasant surprise. Not the most attractive beer, it pours a very hazy dark straw color with very little head but decent carbonation. Lightly spicy in the nose, with hints of citrus and banana. The taste is quite nice with a pleasant melding of banana, citrus, grain, and some slight notes of clove that grow a bit on the finish. Everything is in proportion, and especially you don't get too much banana. That being said, this is definitely in the German style, and the banana notes are definitely present as well as the clove to a lesser degree. Very balanced and an all around pleasant beer- just the thing after a day of hiking.

Had this on draft at Across the Trax next door to the brewery. Served in a standard pint glass. Listed as a hefeweizen at the bar, it was slightly amber & more colored than most hefes would be. Large billowy head though that left lots of lacing in the glass. The beer was also nicely cloudy, appropriate for style.

Aroma was solidly banana yeasty character -- quite strong plus some wheat sourness & a bit of caramel sweetness.

Taste was definitely banana strong with just a bit of cloves character. This is definitely a German style hefe rather than an American Oberon style hefe. Nice wheat malt character with a hint of honey/caramel sweetness.

Mouthfeel was a bit fuller than I expected but still refreshing & well carbed. This was an easy to drink, refreshing hefe. Nice beer, not my favorite of the four Nantahala beers I tried, but quite good & I'd definitely drink it again.

ery nice to see another new offering coming out of this new brewery. Very happy to be able to try this one on tap.

Pours a nice light golden amber in color with a smooth creamy head of white that fades off rather quickly but does leave behind some nice touches of lacing in its wake. Highly carbonated you could see the streams of bubbles running up through the glass. Light aroma, peaches, pears, light citrus hops and nice touches of light grains are all coming together quite well I have to say. Really nicely done. Crisp, clean, and definitely refreshing taste is a more then welcome treat on this hot day. Really nice and smooth, clean hops fill the palate nearly instantly and come together with a smooth, easy feeling to it. Incredible drinkable with a clean, soft finish.

Overall a great ale to enjoy on a hot summer day. I would have no issue at all with trying this one again any day. Really just fantastically done.
