Pours pours with a dirty creamy head. Aroma is rich and sweet; brown sugar, toffee, dough, a touch of some raisin, a little vanilla, but not much bourbon. Flavor followed suit with a touch more bourbon showing itself. A medium bodied, somewhat cream mouthfeel, not much activity which works well here. Overall, not sure the bourbon barrel was all that noticeable but an enjoyable enough beer. Problem is, as a bourbon barrel wee heavy I kept comparing it to the Grimm Brothers beer of the same style, and it was not close to being in the same league as it.
