Served in a pint glass, on tap at the brewery. This Belgian Dubbel poured a mahogany color with a nice average white head with good head retention. Average lacing left on the glass. The aroma has a slight malt note, notes of sweet caramel and yeast. The taste of this Dubbel has a malt base, prunes, semi-sweet, sourdough bread and Belgian Ale yeast. Semi-dry finish. Medium in body, very smooth, nice mouthfeel. While I have had better examples of Belgian Dubbel, this is a unique brew...what it lacks in a distinctive Belgian yeast flavor, it makes up for with an exceptionally smooth, well balanced ale.

A: Served a Mahogany Color with a small head that fades quickly and just a bit of lacing.
S: Has a nice Malty presence but not overpowering, with a dark fruit aroma with hints of sweetness.
T: Has a nice taste of malt and dark fruits. Not overly sweet with a dry finish.
F: Fairly medium body, smooth with no hint of the 6.8% ABV. Well Balanced.
O: Seems to be a nice representation of an Abbey Dubbel. Went well with my meal, but not one that I would normally seek out.
