Pours a dark brown color. 1/4 inch head of a tan color. Great retention and great lacing. Smells of pale malt, slight spice, sweet malt, and slight roasted malt. For a Christmas, the aroma was rather muted. This beer should be in the style of a Winter Warmer, not a Belgian Strong Dark Ale. Mouth feel is smooth and clean, with a low carbonation level. Tastes of sweet malt, hint of roasted malt, slight caramel malt, spice (all spice?, nutmeg?), and a hint of hop. Overall, the spices play a more subtle role than I would have liked.

Served this Belgian Christmas ale on tap, at the brewery, in a pint glass. The Belgian Strong ale, poured a dark magahony color, produced a thick tannish, off white head that had excellent retention and excellent lacing left on the glass. The aroma was full of caramel malt, peppercorn, cinnamon and clove. Medium in body, heavy thick mouthfeel, this is an excellent session beer high alc content, warming , perfect for a cold winters night. Consists of some roasted malt, fruit (apple), spicy pepper and clove. The Belgian yeast lends a unique profile to this brew. Prost!

On tap at the Brewhouse.

A: Served a deep mahogany color with a decent off-white head and good lacing.

S: Pleasant aroma of herbs and spice, with some fruit sweetness and a trace of roasted malt.

T: Flavor of spice and a mild sweetness. A mixture of fruit and a bit of chocolate. just a bit of tart and a dry finish.

F: Medium body, very smooth with no hint of the alcohol. Very well balanced.

O: Very good holiday offering. Goes down way to easy. Tis the season to enjoy.
