A: The beer is clear coppery amber in color and has a moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a half finger high beige colored head that died down, leaving a thin patch of bubbles covering most of the surface, a narrow collar around the edge, and some lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Light aromas of biscuit malts are present in the nose along with hints of yeast.
T: The taste follows the smell, except that the yeast flavors are stronger and there are underlying hints of caramel and toasted malts. A light amount of bitterness is also present.
M: It feels medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation. The finish leaves your mouth with a little bit of dryness.
O: This beer is quite malty, but has just enough underlying hops to keep things drinkable. In this way, the lack of fruity flavors from hops or yeast keeps things simple.

Look: Deep amber color with a small amount of foamy off-white head.
Smell: Toasted malts and some earthy hops, but there is something sweet underneath.
Taste: Clean malt flavor followed by a good bitter hop taste, also a hint of sweet caramel.
Feel: Super dry and bitter finish on a super clean feeling beer.
Overall this is not a style I sample a lot of, and I really enjoyed this. If they all taste this way, I need to start searching them out more.

Pours a deep amber with a half finger of head that settles to a collar. Almost no aroma- or my senses are eluding me - but faintest aroma of root beer. Taste might be maple or cola...Very clean finish.

On-tap @ Astoria Bier & Cheese in Astoria, NY.
Deep amber / light brown in color with a very small head and poor retention. Aroma is comprised of toasted and caramel malts with earthy hops. Light fruit upon tasting, but otherwise more of the same toasted malt flavor and earthy hop bitterness. Dry, bitter, and clean finish. Medium bodied with good carbonation.
My first beer from Barrier Brewing was solid yet unspectacular. It actually became much more enjoyable as I starting sampling some cheeses with it.

Had a pint at Sweet Afton in Astoria. A clean, but odd beer. Lots of brown bread, nuts, and clove — though more than I'd care for. Reminds me of of the base beer for Southern Tier's Pumking, which I respect but don't personally enjoy.
