Mo Salah, Mo Salah running down the wing
Salah la la la la la la the Egyptian King!!
"Make Us Dream!"
Cannot believe Barrier made a beer with my favorite football team's (Liverpool FC) best player on the label! I was not thrilled to find out it was a "bastardized" version of a pilsner with mosaic hops, but this was still a must buy for me. Now onto the beer...
This beer looks amazing, literally flawless. It pours a hazy bright straw yellow color with a massive, dense, rocky, bright white head. Retention is phenomenal and sticky sheets of lacing are left all over the glass.
Smell is suprisingly very traditional for a pils. Spicy, herbal and floral hops are rounded out by straw and crackery malts.
Taste is very similar, but the hops come off stronger than the malts. Still pretty traditional, but there is an underlying layer of berry and grape from the mosaic hops. Very unique, and I certainly don't mind it.
Feel is very light and smooth, but lacking a crisp dry finish that I prefer in a pilsner. Could use some more carbonation as well.
Overall this is a very solid beer. I really don't enjoy most pilsners that use new age American hops, but this one was actually way more traditional than I assumed. If there was more carbonation and crispness, this would be a great beer. YNWA
