sampling a cellar temp 16 oz can poured into a pint glass.
the beer pours a dar chocolate brown color with a large fluffy beige to tan colored head of 4.5 cm. cant evn pour the whole beer in due to foam.
the foam fades quickly to a sturdy, yet rocky surface layer.
The aroma is roasted malt and some dark chocolate, mixing with some nutty scents that I will attribute to the pecans. no booziness and not any real hop character either. Pretty straight forward stout nose.
first sip reveals a light to average body with smooth texture and very fine and tingly carbonation.
Flavor is what I expect from the nose. Dry roasted malt and some dark cacao notes mixing up front. Again, a light nutty character shines through and no hint of hopcharacter nor booze on the flavor.
This is an easy drinking stout, it isnt a stand out, but surely isnt flawed either. I think a little bigger body would improve the experience.
Glad to have tried this one.
