A thanks to the commander of the canquest, woodychandler, for this beer. Poured from a 16 oz. can. Has a hazy golden color with a 1 inch head. Smell is of citrus, mango. Taste is citrus, some lactose, hints of mango, moderate bitterness. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall it's decent, but I was expecting more mango and tropical flavors.

I was rearranging some of the backlog this evening, CANsolidating like brewery's CANs with one CANother in preparation for upcoming brewery horizontals when this one decided to let go on me! EEEK! Did I catch the tab on the six-pack carrier? Had it been building pressure to the point that when I pulled it from the carrier, that was enough to cause it to release? No matter what, I had a CANmergency on my hands! Step #1 - hustle it into the reefer for some cooling time. Step #2 - A Crack!, Glug, Review & Rating. Don't do this to yourself.
From the CAN: "Originally Brewed for Our Friends at Burgerology"; "MilkshakE India Pale Ale w/Mango, Vanilla + Coconut and Hopped w/Mosaic, Motueka + Citra".
I was hesitant to do much more than simply Crack! open the vent, at which time I beCAN a steady C-Line Glug since clarity was not a CANcern in this case. It foamed mightily, eventually settling in to become two-plus fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, eggshell-white head with good retention. Color was a deeply-hazy/lightly-cloudy Golden-Amber (SRM = > 5, < 7). Nose smelled like something that I have really come to enjoy and embrace - the melding of "traditional" AIPA hops and Southern Hemisphere hops. I got the tropical fruit quality, especially (prevalently) mango, but also the citrusiness of orange/tangerine & grapefruit. Mmm. Mouthfeel was medium. The taste was really interesting with a slight tang from all of the flavors. It ranged from initially sweet to a more citrusy bitterness with mango as a CANstant note throughout. It was on the semi-dry finish that I got a wash of vanilla to send it on its way as a farewell wave. Mmm. Now, I am CANurious to try others in the series. YMMV.

Poured from a tallboy can into a Dogfish Head tulip
L: Hazed golden juicebomb of a pour. 2 fingers of foamy white head leaves great lacing.
S: Fruity and tropical. Strong mango... pineapple and peach.
T/F: Medium bodied and sticky... sweet and fruity up front with fresh mango, pineapple, peach, and tangerine. Some floral and citrus. Modest bitterness mid-swig. Sticky on the tongue and smooth with a bit of spice. More mango smoothie at the finish.
O: A delicious milkshake IPA. If you like the style and you're into mango then this one's spot on.
