Very dark on the pour with minimal highlights. Khaki colored bubbles for the crown.
The nose brings chocolate with the most prominence and a slight pepper presence behind it.
The taste brings in more peppers than the nose but they are still covered in the chocolate. The saffron plays a huge part, making it unique to any other beer I’ve tried. Peppers have some good flavor, but not much heat.
The chocolate covers up a lot of the heat from the peppers until a warmness in the throat and chest.
Overall, unique and interesting. I am glad I was able to try.
