I had to take a break from my previously scheduled deep-dive into Barrier's collabs due to yet CANother beer with NO approved pic in place! 8={} One of the main tenets of The CANQuest (tm) is NO Crack!ing open a beer until a pic exists for posterity. I have SO many photos to my credit that I do not mind doing so, but I would really prefer others to join me in taking, resizing & submitting pics. At least it gives me an opportunity to delve deeper into the mysterious Barrier BC.
From the CAN: "Originally Brewed for Our Friends at Burgerology"; "MilkshakE India Pale Ale w/Peach, Vanilla + Coconut and Hopped w/Mosaic, Motueka + Citra".
I have had one in this series before so I kinda ChANged up my M.O. from the jump. First, I did some in-CAN agitation before Crack!ing open the vent. Next, I went with a heavy-handed, free-flowing C-Line Glug into the awaiting glass. I then sat back & watched it form two-plus fingers of foamy, soapy, rocky, eggshell-white head with modest retention, popping & fizzing its way into wisps. Color was a murky, turbid Amber (SRM = > 7, < 9) with loads of floaties in evidence. The emphasis here is on "MilkshakE" & make no mistake, it resembles one by the time it settles! Nose smelled of … peaches! Surprise. Actually, it smelled of peaches & vanilla & I was put in mind of Peach Melba or Peaches & Cream ice cream or Peaches & Herb or "Peaches" by The Presidents of the United States of America or Depeche Mode for those Gallic speakers on here. I guess that I need to make a WBAYDN post after all is said & done. Peachy! Mouthfeel was medium, but slick & oily. The taste, in addition to peach & vanilla, also evinced coconut & to keep it from being a cloyingly sweet mess, a grapefruit citrusiness. 8=O The taste was a jangly mélange of flavors, but somehow, it worked. I was really taken by just how dry it finished. In fact, it was so dry that I was having a water back after every sip. It was certainly a thirst-quencher. Now, I am REALLY intrigued to try more in the series. Next up - Strawberry! YMMV.

L: Pours a very hazy orange yellow and looks quite juice like, with a creamy white head and several fingers of lacing on the glass.
S: Strong fuzzy peach is forefront, the vanilla and coconut are definitely there, along with a milky lactose note, and some citrusy hops, especially tropical orange. It smells solid but not breathtaking.
T: Fuzzy peach followed by coconut and vanilla, and some citrusy and tropical hops. It all makes for a kinda odd combo that works just ok.
F: Not a creamy smooth as expected, medium body.
O: The ingredients in this beer make for an odd combo which misses the point for me a bit.
