Collaboration brew with Cerveses La Pirata, Aslin Beer Co & Captain Lawrence Brewing Company.
India Pale Ale Double Dry Hopped with Rakau, El Dorado & Kohatu. HUGE notes of melon and tangerine on the nose. Slight hints of strawberry with a bomb of cantelope on the finish. One of the smoothest beers to date, bitterness is almost non existent.

A thanks to the commander of the canquest, woodychandler, for this beer. Poured from a 16 oz. can. Has a hazy golden color with a 1 inch head, lots of lacing. Smell is of strawberries, melons. Taste is strawberries, hints of of mango, mild bitterness. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a pretty good beer.

Now that Untappd is aligned with this site & vice versa, I CAN let the cat outta the bag. I am a top user on both, but for different purposes. Here, all of my beers get thoughtfully reviewed with an attendant rating, hearkening back to the early days when the ONLY way to keep track of one's beers was to write a review. On Untappd, I almost NEVER give a beer a rating, but I check into them all, usually with a pic & a punny CANment. When Joe Sixpack interviewed me, he asked if Untappd had ChANged my drinking habits & my answer was a resounding "YES!" since I find myself chasing their Foursquare/Swarm-inspired badges. This will begin an ongoing deep dive into Barrier (& Friends) since they seem incapable of making a beer without CANlaborating with CANother brewery. Why? I am trying to close out Untappd's "Better Together" badge & further The CANQuest at the same time!

Okay, I gotta say, the label art is phenomenal! It is almost worth the price of admission by itself. I am an artistic guy, although words & paper are my medium of choice, but I totally dig edgy art. This shizznit iz edgy, yo!
I Crack!ed open the vent & when nothing untoward ocCANurred, I proceed with a slow, gentle C-Line Glug into the awaiting glass. This produced two-plus fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, bone-white head with excellent retention that left a load of lacing in its wake as it fell. Color was an oh-so-slightly-hazy Yellow-Gold (SRM = 4 - 5) that I could have chalked up to chill haze except that it wasn't out of my reefer. 8=( The nose smelled like my late grandmother's garden at the height of Summer - red raspberries, strawberries & red roses! 8=O Her postage stamp-sized lawn was also immaculate & I would lay in the grass & read comic books whenever I could. What memories. Mouthfeel was medium to full, not quite creamy, but on the approach. The taste was perfect - red raspberries, strawberries, mangoes, guavas, peaches, honey and all with a tinge of cool mintiness! 8=O Yum. This was the kind of IPA, hazy or no, that I have been dreaming of. It was just so tasty! Finish was semi-dry, leaving me licking my lips after every savory sip. Mmm. YMMV.
