This may be a disaster from which there is no recovery. A modest pour from a pint can into a clear glass liter mug was quickly filled with a fluffy white foam. Now it's receding unevenly, so we know there was plenty of wheat in the wort. That's not good for any IPA, even a New England style. The glass lacing is also uneven. It's remarkable what wheat can do to an ale, albeit to the detriment. The color is a murky blond-amber. The aroma is a little wheat cracker and a little hoppy. It drinks lightly, sweetly and very mildly hoppy. There are good Vienna Lagers with more body and flavor than this. Other than being too sweet, this isn't offensive, nor is it in any way remarkable. Few will regret it's been retired. On a kinder note, the 7.2% ABV is nicely embedded in the overall taste.

Pours a faded, pale yellow that is hazy with a long-lasting head of sculptured foam. The aroma reminds me of citrus and pine. The taste is subdued, but with definite grapefruit and orange character, with mild grass notes. It is light to medium bodied. This is a highly drinkable NEIPA.
