Deadly Combination With Mosaic & Comet
BarrierBrewing
Date: 05 August 2021
Final beer for the night, Hazy IPA. I poured into my fancy IPA glass; the temperature was 46 degrees. An off-white three-finger massive foamy and creamy head was created. The slow dissipation left an abundance of lacing on the glass. The color chart around SRM 6, straw yellow with golden hues. The appearance is hazy and beautiful.
The mosaic hops are prevalent in the aromas. Floral, grassy, grapefruit, a touch of dank, and a hint of pine are what I smell first. Lightly toasted crackers, malty sweetness, and a hint of herbal finish are what I detect.
Floral, a hint of grapefruit, orange peel, and grassy are the hop flavors. The lightly toasted malts, bread, dank and herbal notes come next. Lastly, I get malty sweetness and pine resins.
The mouthfeel is astringent and dry. The body is medium, medium-low carbonation, and lingering finish. It is not quick or lasting.
I appreciate this beer does not taste like fruity flowers. The mosaic and comet hop compliment each other. The big malty backbone gives the hops something to hold to without being overbearing. Tasty beer, glad I got to try it.
