16 oz can dated 07-24-19. Purchased from the brewery.
Straw to light gold in color with a good-sized white head. Hazy but you can see through it, just barely. Patchy lacing on the glass.
Lemon, coriander, and pepper aroma. A little vanilla in there as well. Very light wheat malt in the flavor but it's mostly the same descriptors as the aroma. No peat smoke to speak of whatsoever, which I am pretty disappointed about. Maybe the cans have too much age on them? Also disappointing, since I just bought them from the brewery 3 days ago. Would have liked a little smoke in the beer. Otherwise, it tastes like your regular Belgian witbier.
Light bodied and a little thin. Would make a great beer for the summer time.

Golden yellow with a frothy two finger off white head. Smoked pete flavor is understated but interesting. Typical clean belgian farmhouse flavors of lemongrass, wet hay, white pepper and floral hops punctuated with delicate smoky notes of iodine that are almost marine like, akin to bonfire smoke on the beach. Medium body, medium carb. Easy drinking, not a smoke bomb.

On tap at Rattle n Hum, NYC. Socks that were worn during Thimithi (Tamil fire-walking ceremony) may have been used to filter the mash. Not that that's a bad thing. If "horse blankets" can be an positive attribute in craft beer, so can vaguely smoked, slightly used socks. 'my right?
Ever had a hickory smoked Goat cheese? or the Italian stuff that's always hanging over the cash register? Sure Gouda's good & cheddar's better, but for real adventure you need to break ranks & raise the stank.
Now don't get me wrong, this is not the beer to pair with these cheeses, that would overkill, but if you've ever tried or been drawn to this avenue of hedonism, here is another mode.
One caution is even though I really enjoyed this as a change of pace (not to be confused with novelty), I could see how more then 1 may taint the experience. Buy a second to keep in the kitchen to add to the fondue pot or risotto.
Lovely stuff.

From 06/13/15 notes.
Pours a hazy yellow color, one inch off white head and low carbonation evident. Smokey malts, Belgian yeast, spices, wheat, and bready. Medium to light body and low carbonation.
Overall an average smoked beer. Probably wouldn't seek it out again.
