One of the best pale ales I have had. Just wonderful. I could drink it all night.

Poured from a growler bought at the brewery into a Speiglau IPA glass.
Look is a crystal clear yellow orange with a billowy off white head.
Aroma of tangerine with a little mango.
Taste is very fruity and sweet. Leans more straight fruity than bitter.
An interesting extreme of fruity IPAs.

Reviewed from notes taken in February 2015:
Served on-draught into a teku at Proletariat, New York, NY.
HEAD: 2 fingers worth of white colour head. Foamy and frothy. Has a smooth even consistency. Soft looking. Good (~8 minute) retention. Nice light lacing adheres to the sides of the glass as the head recedes.
BODY: Clear copper of good vibrance. No yeast/lees/sediment are/is visible within.
Appears well-carbonated. Not unique or special within the style, but quite appealing generally speaking.
AROMA: Tropical fruit: mango, tangerine. Fresh clean pale malts. Lightly resinous.
Certainly appealing, with a luscious new world hp profile. The fruity bursts are fantastic, but could be more expressive/evocative. Malt sweetness seems to balance hop bitterness well. Good yeast attenuation. No off-flavour or overt alcohol is detectable.
Aromatic intensity is moderate.
TASTE: Tropical fruit dominates the hop profile - some thin mango, light tangerine. Floral hop flavour complements the fruit.
The pale malt backbone is apt, bringing balancing sweetness and keeping this ale harmonious in terms of malt sweetness versus hop bitterness.
No overt yeast flavour, off-flavour, or alcohol comes through.
Clean and fairly fresh in taste. Could be deeper and more evocative, with better complexity, subtlety, and/or nuance.
Average flavour duration and flavour intensity.
TEXTURE: Smooth, wet, crisp, well-carbonated, aptly medium-bodied, of moderate thickness. Nicely refreshing.
Not oily, gushed, hot, boozy, astringent, harsh, rough, or scratchy.
OVERALL: Certainly drinkable and enjoyable, but far from world-class within the oversaturated style. More worthwhile work from Barrier, but I wouldn't order it again. I'm glad I got to try it once.
High C+ (3.2) / ABOVE AVERAGE
