Liked it...didn't love it. I had a 1 year aged bottle from 2015. Poured in a snifter.
Look is like motor oil with a nice frothy head. Smell was excellent and initial taste in the front was real good, but it quickly fizzled and lacked a memorable finish. Very much of a coffee flavor with no sweetness.
Would like to try fresh to compare....good beer, but not something I would go out of my way for again.

22 ounce bottle into snifter, bottled on 9/30/2015. Pours pitch black color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky tan head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of big dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, toasted dark bread, nuttiness, spicy rye, molasses, light smoke/char, tobacco, herbal, pine, citrus peel, light dark fruit, and roast/toasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of roast/bready/rye malt and moderate citrus/pine/earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of huge dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, toasted dark bread, nuttiness, spicy rye, molasses, light smoke/char, tobacco, herbal, pine, citrus peel, light dark fruit, and roast/toasted earthiness. Moderate pine/citrus rind and roast/char bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, toasted dark bread, nuttiness, spicy rye, molasses, smoke, char, herbal, pine, and roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of roast/bready/rye malt and moderate citrus/pine/earthy hop flavors; with a great roast/hop bitter/sweet balance and zero astringent flavors after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from roast/hop bitterness, that increases through the glass. Light-medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth and moderately creamy/sticky/chalky balanced mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a light warmth lingering after the finish. Overall this is an outstanding Russian imperial stout! All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of roast/bready/rye malt and moderate citrus/pine/earthy hop flavors; very smooth and easy to sip on for the huge ABV. Still plenty hoppy at this age, but not overdone; and the malt complexity is fantastic. Definitely significantly better than the 2014 version of this beer. A highly enjoyable offering.

Enjoyed from the 22 oz bottle in a snifter. Pours a deep dark blackish brown with a nice brown head of gig bubbled foam that subsides to a huge ring, pooling layer, and excellent lacing. Nose of spicy dark roasted rye, bakers chocolate, dark stone fruits, and dark roasted coffee. Flavors exceed the nose with spiced up rye, bakers cocoa, and dark molasses on the front and middle, dark fruits and booze on the sides featuring touches of rum, raisins, cherries, and cranberries that fade into the middle and back of the taste with notes of char and roasted malts. Finish is long and spicy with rye and dark roasted coffee with a touch of bittering and herbal hops. Gets better and better with warmth, which sadly ends with the finish of my snifter. Nice mouth feel, slick and coating with medium light carbonation.
Excellent
Can't wait for 2016 edition. One of the best breweries out there releasing extra potent stouts that are more than their sum of their parts.
Cheers

Excellent variation of Blaecorn, took me some time to track down. The rye really shines, don't notice a huge difference in the hoppiness, though they used Ohio hops. If you are a fan of the Blaecorn series, strong recommend.
