Look: Pours a medium gold with a frothy white head, moderate lacing.
Aroma: Lemondrop hops.
Taste: Nice balance between malt and hops. Nothing is really "in your face". Slightly creamy.
Feel: Medium bodied; medium carbonation.
Overall: A standard double IPA. It was fine.

Not sure why this was entered separately from the original lemon drop space cake but so be it. Clown Shoes has fixed one of my qualms with the original recipe, this version has an improved aroma which is essentially just a stronger and more assertive nose than the first lemon drop. It feels to me like the maltiness of this beer is somewhat dialed back? The color is more pale and this versions mouthfeel is requisitely more light on the palate. It still doesn't make for a better space cake than the base beer, but that is a pretty spectacular double IPA in my opinion so the bar was high to begin with.
