A: Poured into a snifter to a black beer topped by a dense and slightly rocky two fingers of dark tan head which fades slowly to a collar around the edge of the glass with minimal lacing
S: Smells of some nice roasty malts with a hint of rye spice. There's some chocolate and coffee undertones in this beer as well as a touch of smoke.
T: Tastes of dark roasted coffee, roasted malts, bitter dark chocolate, almost hints of ash, A little spice and some faded oily and piney hop notes. On the swallow there's more oily and piney hops, chocolate, coffee, roasted malts and a hint of smoke. It sometimes has that burnt sugar and charred wood vibe going on as well.
M: This beer is thick and velvety on the palate. Carbonation is soft but it's adequate for the style while the beer has a drying finish due to the ABV.
O: Overall this is a really well executed beer. It has good flavor and a nice amount of complexity. The alcohol is also pretty well hidden so expect this one to sneak up on you a little. Unidragon rarely disappoints and this beer is no exception.

Smells like raisin, coffee, molasses, alcohol.
Tastes like burned dark chocolate, black coffee, very boozy.
Mouth feel is thick and creamy.
Overall I'm impressed, love the fact it's 12.5%!

22 ounce bottle into snifter, bottled on 10/4/2016. Pours opaque dark brown/black color with a 2 finger dense and rocky tan head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Dense soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, toasted dark bread, spicy rye, nuttiness, brown sugar, toffee, licorice, molasses, herbal, tobacco, raisin, light smoke/charcoal, and roast/toasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready rye malt and light-moderate earthy hop/fruity yeast notes; with great strength. Taste of huge dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, toasted dark bread, spicy rye, nuttiness, brown sugar, toffee, licorice, molasses, herbal, tobacco, raisin, light smoke/charcoal, and roast/toasted earthiness. Light-moderate roast/char/herbal bitterness and rye spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, toasted dark bread, spicy rye, nuttiness, brown sugar, toffee, licorice, molasses, herbal, tobacco, raisin, light smoke/char, and roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready rye malt and light-moderate earthy hop/fruity yeast flavors; with an awesome roasted bitter/sweet and rye spiciness balance; zero acrid/astringent flavors after the finish. Light dryness from bitter/spiciness, lightly increasing through the glass. Medium carbonation and fairly full body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky, and lightly sticky/chalky balanced mouthfeel that is awesome. Alcohol is very well hidden; a mild lingering warmth, with zero booziness after the finish. Overall this is an incredible Russian imperial stout! All around fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready rye malt and light-moderate earthy hop/fruity yeast flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to sip on for the huge ABV. Fairly similar to the 2015 with the rye malts; but much more rich/decadent with a fantastic mouthfeel; and much less hoppy, bitter, and drying. A really amazing offering all around.

Being from Ohio, I just had to try this. Before I rate the beer, let me start with the awesome label art. C'mon, a unidragon sitting under the Ohio sky with William Taft!! Okay, so let's dive into what everyone wants to know.... the taste!!!
Pours nice and dark with a dark khaki head that lingers. Leaves a sexy lacy ring around the glass as it empties.
I poured mine into a fancy snifter and drank it on the warmer side of temperature.
Coffee notes and Malts hit me right up front. A very dark, warm, potent taste that feels like drinking room temperature pine tar dripping off a Louisville Slugger.
I mean, this tastes charred and malty so expect some bitterness. A delicious full body drink that warms you with each sip and definitely fills you but leaves you wanting more. I also paired this with some smoked salmon and it really punched my palet with full flavor and smoky delight.
Give this a try, it's phenomenal!

Not a bad beer but I really think I should have let this bottle sit for a few more months or maybe even a year. Very Big and hot . . . has a nail polish taste and aroma to it which I'm sure would have mellowed out with some age.

22 ounce bottle. I'm pretty sure Clown Shoes dates their beers but I can't find anything on the bottle so I guess it was smudged off. Served in a Great Lakes Brewing snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with about an inch and a half tan head that stayed around for a really long time. There's also a good amount of lacing. I like the aroma, the brew smells like dark fruit, burnt/charred malt, rye malt, bittersweet chocolate and coffee. It tastes like burnt/charred malt, bittersweet chocolate, rye malt, coffee, earthiness and licorice. This imperial stout leans more towards the bitter/charred flavors, which is fine with me. Mouthfeel/body is full, it's creamy and a bit coating with a moderate amount of carbonation. I thought this was a pretty good imperial stout, I'll have to pick up another bottle. Definitely worth trying! $9.99 a bomber.

Im a sucker for RIS's and Im from Ohio so this one has some meaning. Grabbed it from a visit to Jungle Jim's.
Love the rye component. Thick, viscous, sweet, malty goodness. Rich aromas of wet pipe tobacco, charred sugars, and alcohol.
Would probably improve with some age but this is like a green tipped banana, a bit under ripe but still delicious.
