Ever since I embarked on a Clown Shoes brewery horizontal as part of New "Don't Call Me a 'Clown' Until You've Drank a CAN of Beer in My Shoes" Beer Sunday (Week 736), I CAN't seem to stop! Viva The CANQuest (tm)!

From the CAN: "Our Mission: To Produce Beer without Pretension while Being Free and a Little Crazy".

Well, it was time for blast-off as I Crack!ed open the vent & beCAN a slow, gentle Glug into the awaiting glass. It was foamy, but not unCANtrolled & I soon got two-plus fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, tawny head with excellent retention. Color was a deeply-hazy/lightly-cloudy Golden-Amber (SRM = > 5, < 7). Nose smelled like liquefied pineapple upside-down (space) cake! Mmm. I LOVE pineapple upside-down cake! It was one of the first desserts that my maternal grandmother taught me to make as a wee lad. Mouthfeel was medium-to-full, not quite creamy, but in the neighborhood. The taste mirrored the nose with loads of pineapple and lots of caramel malt. Granted, it was on the sweet side for the style, but man, was it tasty! I really liked its mellow tropical fruitiness in CANtrast with some that are simply unrelenting & totally variegated. This was simply pineapple & caramel/doughy malts. Why get crazy & experimental if there is no need? Finish was semi-sweet, but just barely. If you were to argue for semi-dry, I would not fight you on it. I CAN get behind something like this!

Picked up a 16 oz can from the Craft Beer Hop Stop 7-8-17 for $3.75. Canned on 6-20-17 and stored in the beer fridge since purchase.

Beer poured golden orange with a nice white head with the original pour.

Nose is nice fresh citrus.

Taste was light citrus with a heavy emphasis of pine that stands out in the end. Subsequent sips turned vegetal from then on.

Feel is medium bodied and refreshing.

Overall my palate must have been off despite following end of day process. Struggled with the vegetal flavor. Doubt any cold cans are still around for a second try.

Format 16oz can. Straight out of can as no container to pour into given I am in a hotel. Can't tell color but aroma is sweet piney. Smooth hoppy taste that is easy on the palette. Like it

A: A hazy peach in color, with a large just off white head.

S: Hoppy with loads of citrus juice, and tropical fruits with a little bit of a cloying caramel smell.

T: Taste follow aroma. Lots of citrus and tropical fruits, but a hint cloying sweetness, or perhaps a touch of booze.

M: Medium thick in feel with moderate to low carbonation.

O: Tasty, but a touch sweet, the bitterness rounds it out a little, but still not my favorite.

this is in that dime-a-dozen category for ipa's. nothing shocking about it. nothing to make other people want to give you something for it. just a good, safe brew with a decent abv. i will note (for myself if no one else) that this does contain citra in the hop profile, but it's part of a whole cast of hops so we'll go with it.

pours golden and mostly clear with a thick, white head. what i would have expected.

i get peach and some muted pine in the nose. a little soapy. it's ok.

taste is again a bit of stone fruit with some bitterness up front, but this doesn't last.

mouth is medium but a bit flat. 7.77% is well hidden.

it's a melange (i think seven qualifies as a melange) of hops that create a profile where everything works together pretty well. i hate to say it, but i wanted a bit more citrus, or a bit more pine, or a bit more something, but this is one that does the trick well enough. nothing special, but nothing bad either.

Poured from a 16 oz. can. Has a golden/orange color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of pine, citrus. Taste is the same, mild pine and citrus, some malts, light bitterness for an IPA. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a pretty good beer, a little lacking in punch.
