There’s a unique smell to this one. It carries over to the taste.

I am a drinker of hoppy beers and the IPA is where I usually dwell but damnit, a great hoppy pale is one of the holy grails of the craft beer drinker.

This is not a heavily hopped beer but it has the pine and citrus you expect but toned down by a medium-dry malt background. I like the flavor because there is a pronounced earthy floral element that competes and works with the more West Coast style stonefruit hops.

Well carbonated and tingly on the tongue with a slight bit of funk. This is for the hop head who wants to drink two or three beers without having that sticky hop resin that can linger when you’re downing IPAs without food.

Underrated so I’m going with a stellar review. Try this one out!

Had on tap. The nose was pretty nondescript with some tropical fruit, namely pineapple, and some hop bitterness. The taste was full of papaya, guava, mango and pineapple, but the hops were reduced to simple pine with no real bite, but it is tasty. Feels like it could be more if committed to the fruit more or the hops more, but for now is in between

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a Dogfish Head tulip

L: Nearly clear light golden pour with 2 fingers of fluffy white head. Solid ring of lacing.

S: Light citrus and floral hops.

T.F: Lightly toasted grains... sweet malts followed by moderate hop bitterness. Grapefruit/citrus, floral character, and melon. Mild pine. Well balanced... fairly light bodied and easy drinking.

O: A solid light/clean APA. Good flavor and a well made beer.

Pours a semi cloudy bright golden color, visible carbonation and a thumbnail length frothy head. Average retention which nevertheless yields lacing and a persistent layer of film.
In the nose there is a big burst of tropical and citrus aromas, including, pineapple, mango, grapefruit and orange peel. A modest dose of toasted malts and gentle pine play a complimentary role.
First impressions of the taste reveal a clean and dry palate. Soon, the toasty and bready malts are highlighted with a soft and round flavor that emit moderate sweetness. Fruity hops tastes begin to develop, resulting in tropical and citrus flavors. Hops flavors also produce piny flavors as well as a gentle and clean bitterness that is just about perfect. The finish is somewhat sweet but with a dry and gentle grapefruit pith bitterness.
Medium bodied, softly carbonated and smooth. Well balanced in terms of its malt presence, bitterness, juicy and earthy hops and dryness.
I thought this was a quite tasty APA that in my opinion deserves higher ratings.

Appearance looks remarkably like a Kolsch or Gose with its flaunty hazy color and effervescence. The head is a thin sloshy moss on top.

So strange. The aroma is also somewhat sour, with some lemon notes and light dill. Nice citrus notes also lay lazily on the nose, with hints of baked malt.

Flavor is polite and charming, with a nice amalgamation of grapefruit peel, lemon peel, cracker, light grass, and tangerine. The baked flavor of the malts really imparts a bready, almost kolsch-like thing in the beginning. Towards the finish you're left with heavy lemon peel and lots of hay/weeds.

Feel is crisp and clean.

Overall, an easy drinking pale ale if there ever was one. But honestly - if I were to call a spade a spade, it's a hoppy Kolsch. A decent drinker.
