Very Good
Pineapple Space CakePineapple Space Cake
Notes: The Space Cake armada has built a reputation of merciless tactics and relentless conquests that have placed them at the forefront of intergalactic forces. But now they’ve gone one step further…a tropical twist. Pineapple puree brings luscious tropical citrus flavor to this Double IPA. Matching that fruit flavor are juicy citrus hop notes from additions of Mosaic and Azacca hops.

Pretty solid pineapple IPA. It doesnt come off as too sweet nor does it taste like fake, candy pineapple, which is great. The hops are mellowed out by the fruit, making this a smooth, easy drinker.

L-The beer pours a reasonably clear golden amber with a 3 finger off white head. The head recedes to a thick film leaving patchy lacing behind.
S- The nose is heavy up front with the beer's considerable malt presence. Behind that there is a lesser amount of sweet pineapple. Rounding out the nose is a bit of alcohol which is fairly consistent with my experience with regular Space Cake.
T- The taste rather than being layered, comes at you mixing the malt and pineapple. The hop bitterness rides underneath these flavors and takes over at the back half of the mid palate.
F- Mouthfeel over all is a solid medium. The bitterness provides a touch of dryness to the finish. Carbonation is on the lower side of medium.
O- A decent DIPA with a slight variation on the original. The pineapple is pretty subtle, but definitely there. All in all though this one seems to just average overall and my memories of regular space cake are generally more positive than this one. Worth a shot for the tickers, but I'd stick with the non adjunct version for regular drinking.

A: The beer is slightly hazy yellowish amber in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high off white head that left a patch of bubbles on the surface, a narrow collar around the edge, and some lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Light aromas of mangos, pine, and pineapple are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell, having flavors of mangos and pineapple along with notes of pine. There is a moderate amount of bitterness.
M: It feels medium-bodied and a little crisp on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: I thought that the pineapple would be a little stronger based on the name of this beer, but it was a nice fruity IPA.

Pours a pale amber and topped with a firm off-white froth. Aroma of pineapple and caramel up front with pear and orange subsequent. Sweet on the tongue with more pineapple, pear juice, zest and an herbal/earthy bitterness in the finish. Medium in body. A really simple yet fairly tasty IPA without much fault to be found beyond personal preference.

Copper with a light haze and lots of carbonation, topped with three fingers of yellowish head.

Smells of pineapple, grass, and a hint of pine.

The taste is of pineapple, rust, crème brûlée, and a light dull bitterness.

Medium syrupy body, with moderate carbonation.

I got this in Redding where I'm drinking it June 30, 2019.

5 oz pour on tap. Pours a slightly cloudy straw yellow with an off-white head. Aroma and flavor are pineapple, tropical fruit, and citrus fruit, with moderate bitterness. Not too sweet. Alcohol is well-hidden.

It pours hazy gold but clears slightly as it warms under a moderate while foam collar with good persistence. this has pineapple supported by citrus on the nose and on the tongue where is is lightly sweetened by lactose. It is a pleasant drink with a moderate bitter finish.

Look is semi-clear golden orange. Smell is light tropical fruit with pineapple on top. Tste follows nose and end with a nice little dryness. Feel is medium. Overall thought little too much pineapple on top but not over the top. Nice for what is is. Would drink again but would not seek out.

Canned on 6/8/18. 16oz can poured into a tulip. Pours golden with a mild haze; big chunky white head that sticks around leaving great thick retention and sticky frothy lacing. The aromas have lots of crackers and fresh bread. Malts are there. Mild hints of pineapple and citrus. The flavors have more crackers and fresh bread leading the way. Some grains. Some sweet pineapple in the mix. Some lemon. Low bitterness. Malts do their thing. Finishes juicy. Alcohol goes unnoticed. Mouthfeel is medium-bodied with moderate carbonation. It's smooth and easy to drink.

This is an alright IPA. It's been awhile since I've had their original Space Cake, but this one doesn't seem to match up, in my opinion. I really liked the Vic Secret Space Cake as well. I wouldn't be too crazy about this one even if it wasn't a Space Cake variant. It's not bad, but it's nothing crazy.

Pours a clear orange honey color with a thick white head and leaves generous lacing. The aroma is a blend of tropical and citrus fruits. Pineapple is clearly evident in the flavor, but tons of other fruit as well, oranges, grapefruit and a touch of bitterness in the finish. Feel is medium and not very carbonated. Overall another tasty beer from Clown Shoes.

Poured into a 13 oz Snulip glass canned on 6/14/18. Pours a very attractive orange with a solid finger white that leaves a thick streaks of lace behind. 4.25

Smell is pineapple, mango, mandarin orange, and some grapefruit rind. 4

Taste follows pineapple a tad more assertive, orange, mango, and a very balanced hit of grapefruit. 4

Mouthfeel is pretty big, plenty of life, a tad dry, and at 7.7% ABV goes down easy. 4

Overall this is a very nice beer, for fans of East and West DIPA lovers. 4

Pours an effervescent gold with 2 fingers of rocky head. Decent head retention & nice lacing

S: Citrus & tropical notes

T: Follows the nose, bready sweetness & dryness as well up front. Pineapple, orange peel, a little biscuitty malt & dryess as this warms, just a touch of lime too. Finishes with orange peel, pineapple & just a little bready sweetness

MF: Fairly chewy, but with enough carbonation to push the flavor, nice balance

Nice tropical IPA that hits all the right notes, very drinkable

22oz bottle from Sprayberry Bottle Shop (Marietta, GA). 6.99. Bottled 4/27/17. Served in a Clown Shoes snifter.

Pours a muted orange with just under two fingers of white head. The foam recedes to a forthy central island and modest collar, leaving large swaths of lace.

Smells of citrus, pineapple and some cakey sweet malt.

Pineapples hold a welcomed predominance in the flavor. Orange marmalade, lemon zest, some subtly bitter flower petals, cakey malt and an mild, occasional nip of alcohol. A nice, easily drinkable IPA.

Medium, slightly slick body with moderate carbonation. The finish could basically be summed up as pineapple hop cake.

Clown Shoes have brewed another damned delicious variation of Space Cake. I really enjoy the pineapple presence and that slight abv reduction makes this even easier to drink that the standard.
