Pours an inky black with copious khaki head = smells of dark roasted malts, coffee, hints of bourbon.
Taste is sweet malts forward, delicious expresso notes and subtle vanilla and bourbon notes throughout. Mouthfeel is thick and chewy, minimal effervescence and a pleasant, almost syrupy quality that lingers without being cloying.
Coffee notes predominate with the bourbon barrel influence a secondary note - but there and pleasant - becomes more apparent as it ages.
All the best attributes of blaecorn unicorn plus a little catcher in the rye with a strong coffee note - another great beer from clown shoes. . .

Pours like a usual stout - black with a thin mocha head.
Smells great: coffee and chocolate mostly on the nose.
Tastes too milky to me. I get the bourbon (slightly) and the coffee. There's also big sweet chocolate notes. It's like a milk stout to me. Perhaps I'm not in the mood for such a stout, or maybe I'm surprised given that this is not marketed as a milk stout, but I don't care for the taste. It's a bit one-dimensional.
However the mouth-fell is superb.
Overall, I thought this was a little too sweet for my liking, and frankly it's a little one-dimensional. For example, Sierra Nevada's (non-BBA) narwhal has notes of chocolate, coffee, and dark fruits, and it's just a regular old RIS. Despite this, it's not a bad stout at all.

I'm giving this rating because Clown Shoes has never let me down
Looks-Black and Foamy
Smells -caramel and coffee
Taste- Strong coffee with a hint of bitter chocolate
Feel-Heavy carbonation , Creamy
Overall- This was fantastic! I couldn't believe it got a higher rating than Undead Party Crasher, But now I see why, Higher ABV and just as smooth :)
