16oz can. Poured out a clear, golden orange color with a small, white head of foam. It smelled of sweet caramel, pine and citrus notes. Very boozy with roasted malt, toffee and caramel. Strong bitterness.

 

 

Fruity and sweet on the nose, a little booze. Honey; big malt base with lots of hops.

Flavor follows: big and malty, with a nice hop counterbalance providing tropical fruit tones. Almost no citrus. Moderate bitterness.

Smooth and lively on the palate; fairly easy to drink for such a big beer.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Had it from a can into a tulip glass.

This beer has an interesting smell and taste I cannot quite identify. It is floral, fruity and refreshing - odd combination for a triple IPA. Lime and maybe kiwi. Overall, a nice beer!

 

5-1-2019 - On tap at the Harpoon Brewery in Beantown. Served in a Clown Shoes snifter. Tasty little number that I’d get again and again. Bartender called it a triple IPA because of the ABV. Not too hoppy. Get some.

Served in a brandy snifter, the remnants of the head leaves a minimum of streaks and spots. The liquid is nearly clear with a lighter amber color.

I get a nice berry sweetness to the nose with a very light balancing grapefruit smell. There's a bit of Juicy-fruit as well.

Strong sweet malty base. The hop is more subtle than balancing. The body is rich with a muted carbonation. The finish is more like an actual grapefruit than any beer I've had. The aftertaste is surprisingly short given the strong flavor profile.
