Bottle (dated 9/7/18; so about at 16 months ) to tulip glass.
LOOK: dark black, medium off white head. not lasting.
AROMA: vanilla is potent and sticks around nicely. otherwise, charred malt, cocoa, bourbon, oak are all peeking in with small doses.
TASTE: mostly charred malt with some vanilla, chocolate and bourbon heat.
FEEL: a tad flat, even for the style. smooth feel.
Good beer. Weird art on the bottle; wish I knew more about what or who was being exorcised.

Not too shabby for an imperial stout but honestly I expected a little more from such an amazing brewery. Bottled date 9/7/18. Pours a deep, dark black opaque color with just a hint of a film of tan head and really very scant lingering lacing. Smells nice, rich mocha chocolate and medium roast coffee, bourbon, oak, vanilla, bread and caramel with a little nuttiness in the background. Taste follows the nose, good balance but could have been a little richer and with more depth. Tasted just a tiny bit watery to me. Smooth, decently rich mouthfeel with decent carbonation. High ABV was well-hidden. Worked well with savory dinner as well as sweet dessert.

Pours a decent thick mocha colored head with great retention, some lacing and decent legs, basically jet black beer
Nose tons of cocoa, loads of dark chocolate, some fudge, vanilla, a little nutty, fair amount of roast and some coffee, a touch of char and black malt like, big nutty like pecans coming through with raw earthy vanilla, touch of baking spices with some bourbon barrel, toasted oak and raw bourbon, a touch of coconut as well, and cookie dough
Taste more rich everything, thick heavy malts, with some roast and touch of char, but fair coffee as well, big chocolate, cocoa, dark chocolate and a bit of ganache, a bit fudgey as well, then barrel notes with some toasted vanilla oak, raw bourbon, coconut and baking spices, a little nutty again with more pecan like, little toasted almond marzipan, a bit of raw vanilla, more bourbon juice and baked cookies late, and a little chocolate coconut cake, medium bitterness, sticky sweet finish with a flash of alcohol, more lingering coconut pecans and barrel, loads of vanilla and cocoa
Mouth is fuller bod, rich thick, medium carb, almost no alcohol, nice mouth and a bit more carbonation puts this very high
Overall pretty nice stout from Clown Shoes as usual, although all their stouts are similar, but deliver what they promise, lots of all the good stuff in this one, almost no alcohol, a touch more carbonation makes this pop and brings it up a notch, but still very well done stout

This is way too hot. Alcohol leaves a medicinal taste.

Beautiful color, absolutely no light penetrates, it smells of dark fruits, bourbon and vanilla. Velvety smooth on the tongue and feels even better on the back of the throat. It tastes exactly as it smells, nothing over powers, the flavors meld wonderfully. The one bad thing, I only bought one bottle.
