Ever since I embarked on a Clown Shoes brewery horizontal as part of New "Don't Call Me a 'Clown' Until You've Drank a CAN of Beer in My Shoes" Beer Sunday (Week 736), I CAN't seem to stop! Viva The CANQuest (tm)!
From the CAN: "Our Mission: To Produce Beer without Pretension while Being Free and a Little Crazy"; "Double India Pale Ale with Mango and Pink Guava".
I Crack!ed open the vent & beCAN a slow, gentle Glug while hoping for the best. I got just over a finger of foamy, soapy, rocky, tawny head with moderate retention for my efforts. Color was a faintly-hazy Golden-Amber (SRM = > 5, < 7). Nose was tropical without being over-the-top & in-yer-face. I got mango without any bidding or hints, but the guava was more subtle. I am coming to appreciate subtlety in these tropical AIPAs. Mouthfeel was medium. I let it kind of roll around on my tongue to get a sense of its taste. I stick with subtle in that it was fruity and tropical, but the mango and pink guava were understated. This actually worked to its advantage since it was an AIIPA & NOT a Fruit & Field Beer. It was not overly hoppy or bitter, but it did align nicely with the style. I did not get a lot of malt presence, but the tropical fruits picked up the slack. Finish was semi-sweet, but if you wanted to argue for semi-dry, I would fold pretty quickly. I liked it well enough, but I am starting to feel a hops jones coming on. It was on the big side at 8.0%, but I CAN hang with that. I could put this in my cooler, but I would need some hop-driven beers to offset it. YMMV.

L: 2" frothy white blanket of foam with fair to poor retention caps a hazy gold amber brew permeated by steams of moderately fast rising bubbles
S: Mango leads and gets some assistance from guava. Mild hop aromas and some biscuit lie in the background.
T: A dominating hop bitterness reigns in an assertive guava and mango fruit flavor
F: Medium body and medium, very creamy carbonation.
O: rich, satiating and very drinkable

16 oz can poured into a oversized stemless wine glass. Burnt orange color. White head that disappears fairly quickly and leaves zero lacing. Smells of sweet malt and fruit. Taste follows. Sticky sweert everything. Starts with very sweet and finishes with very sweet. Not balanced and hard to get through the 16 ounces. 1 and done.

Pours out a slightly hazy honey color. The head is white and a bit foamy. Retention is decent and there is a good amount of lacing.
The nose is sweet and tropical with just a touch of bitterness. As far as mango and guava go I'm getting an all around tropical fruit sweetness. Can't really place my finger on one particular fruit. Ill just say its very fruity. As well as very aromatic.
Again leans towards fruity sweetness. The hops bitterness has more of a kick this time around for a bit more balance.
Mouthfeel is full bodied. Feels a bit thick. Carbonation is medium and plays well.

Had on tap. Pours hazy, gold in color with one third inch head. Taste is guava, tangerine and orange. Medium-heavy bodied, moderate carbonation and bitter. Makes for an above averae and tasty IPA. I prefer others in the style, but this is good.

Zebra Warren is a DIPA with mango and pink guava. Pint can just less than two months old. Pours orange, translucent but cloudy, with a half-finger of head but little retention. Malt-forward, with juicy fruit notes, more mango than guava, also with pineapple and grapefruit. Moderate hop bitterness on the mid-palate. Full-bodied for a 8% ABV IPA.

Light golden color with a 4F head in a Speigelau IPA glass.
Very floral. Excellent fruit- tropical- perhaps Guava.
Light MF.
Very intense taste: mix of citrus, tropical fruit , Guava and floral with warming.
Excellent DIPA. Clown Shoes is consistently brewing excellent beers after being bought out by Harpoon.
