The Beast is back! But it’s not too pleasant with this new companion... the Banshee. She led them into a mysterious Irish Wilderness and now they’re becoming translucent.

Creepy. But in a most peculiar fashion: Magnificent. This Imperial Stout is a powerful pairing in its own right. With robust malt flavors and the rich and complex notes of Irish Whiskey and Bourbon Barrel aging.

From the good Clown folk in a snifter from the 22 oz bottle. This
beastly brew pours a dark muddled blackish brown with thin dark cola
highlights and a nice head of tan foam that settles to a thick ring, thin
dusty layer, and displays some nice lacing. Nose of smoke, char,
dark cocoa, dark brown sugars, faint oak, and light bourbon
with touches of vanilla and deep roast. Flavors surpass the nose
nicely with peat smoked Irish whiskey and light bourbon
notes with subtle vanilla and oak notes with touches of
tobacco, subtle dark fruits, and char amidst dark roasted
elements. Nice mouth feel; medium full verging on full
body, smooth as is expected from the Clown folk, light
subtly prickly carbonation, and a faintly dry finish.

Overall, this is a unique brew worth trying.

Excellent!

Cheers!

Black color, small tan head that fades quickly.
Roasted malt and booze aroma.
Chocolate up front, a little coffee. Some bourbon. Couldn't really taste the whiskey.
Medium-bodied.
Another great stout from Clown Shoes.

Very slight medium brown head quickly fizzes away... The nose is robust and inviting - brown sugar, Irish whiskey and bourbon barrel aging notes, lightly roasted malts and some hints of chocolate... Flavor profile is constant with the lose but much more muddled... on the fuller side of medium bodied and a touch oily... Outstanding nose and respectable in all other facets... Decent but not necessity worth seeking out...

Two of my favorite things. Imperial Russian stout and Irish whiskey. What's not to love.

Excited to try another entry in the Angry Beast series from Clown Shoes. This one is fairly basic in its components, just adding a portion aged in Irish whiskey barrels to blend with the expected BBA standard. Hard to get any distinguishing characteristics from it; I can't magically recognize a pot still contribution. The main differences I get are a bit more brightness, a hint of apple, and a dryer finish.

From a bomber packaged 9/16/19. Jet black color with a small amount of brown head. Boozy dark fruit and roasted malt smell. Medium body. Rich malt flavors with some whiskey, vanilla, and hop bitterness. A little more aggressive than a regular stout but very drinkable by the standards of high ABV imperial stouts.

Another new BA stout, this time in Irish whisky and bourbon barrels.

Pours a medium to smaller dark colored frothy head with lower retention, fair lacing, decent legs too, very dark basically black color

Nose big sweet dark malts, candy malt with mild roast, smooth dark chocolate and cocoa, light caramel and fair sweet aroma, cookie dough and baking spices from the malts and barrel, light smooth whisky and actually I think I get the Irish whisky (but could be my mind), little fudgey, some vanilla

Taste big rich dark malts, a little roasty, some anise licorice spice notes, more baking spices as well from dark malts and barrel, cookie dough, light caramel and sweet malt, lush cocoa and dark chocolate, little fudgey again as well as some smooth vanilla, and mild smooth alcohol, barrel brings the spices and vanilla as well as more smooth Irish whisky, not sure if I get bourbon though, medium bitterness from some spicy hops and the charred malts, light coffee, drier finish with medium-higher charred and spicy hop bitterness and more anise and spices

Mouth is fuller bod but smooth and a little creamy, medium carb, low alcohol

Overall not bad, I do like that I get some Irish whisky, base stout is typical Clown Shoes, although I don't think this stout recipe is one that would go well with Irish whisky, so I wonder if they just make the same stout or similar base stouts each time with slight variation and then just age in different random barrels without thought into how the base would mesh with the barrel.

Pours a pitch black color with a very small foamy head. Retention is minimal. Lacing is very mild. Small pour. Mild roasty aroma with Irish whiskey and dark fruits. Smooth taste with whiskey and dark fruits. Medium bodied with mild to moderate carbonation.
