Tuscan Picnic is our Rosé IPA. Crisp, bright and floral at its base, an addition of Lambrusco grape juice lends sweet fruit notes reminiscent of our favorite wines. We’ll be reaching for this effervescent delight from whatever sunny hillside gives us the best view of the flamboyant alien invasion.
We often dream of a perfect picnic from the idyllic Tuscan countryside, enjoying a healthy slab of brie, fresh fruit, and a crisp baguette atop a peaceful hill. Of course, being Clown Shoes, our daydreams inevitably turn extraterrestrial. Where did that UFO come from? What’s this fabulous alien foliage populating our dreamscape of a hillside? These questions don’t have answers, but they make us laugh.
Hops: Bitter Gold

Clown Shoes Beer "Tuscan Picnic"
16 fl. oz. can "pkg 248 08/31/20 14:31"
$3.99 @ Foodery Beer, Phila., PA
Notes via stream of consciousness: This is a rosé IPA brewed with Lambrusco grape juice. It's poured a hazy amber colored body with just a touch of a pinkish sheen. The head is a finger's width of off-white foam. The aroma is malty, bready, and fruity. The flavor reveals much more grape than the aroma suggests and it's very nicely blended into the bready and gently caramelish malt. Some additional notes of pear and citrus help to round it out. A moderate bitterness balances it and it finishes sweetish with the malt fading quickly, leaving behind some grassiness, earthiness, and a soft spiciness. In the mouth it's medium bodied and dexrinous with amoderate, fine-bubbled carbonation that leaves it creamy and smooth. All in all I think this worked out well although the head retention and lacing just weren't there.

Reddish grapefruit tinge to a slightly cloudy tannish copper tinted brew, topped with a monstrous off-white head that left clumps of super sticky lace that had major staying power.
Smell was disappointingly un-impressive with a light maltiness and a slight tinge of dried plains grasses, and a minute bit of pine cleaner.
Taste was somewhat redemptive, with a bit of oily, resinous hops and some malt backbone.
Feel was like a better west-coast IPA had been watered down.
Overall it's Clown Shoes, and I can't dis em even if this ain't their best effort.

Aroma is fruit/rose and very bready malts. The flavor is fruit/citrus, mild rose/flowers, malts and a hoppy/earthy/medium sweet tropical fruit finish.
