Clown Shoes Beer "Mad Perf Sesh"
12 fl. oz. can. "Best By date is illegible but is probably 01/31/24. Sampled on 01/06/24.
$21.99 / 12 Beers Of Christmas variety case @ COSTCO, Christiana, DE
Notes via stream of consciousness: A very hazy golden body is capped by a half inch or so of white foam. The aroma is citrusy, piney, earthy, floral, and a touch "dank" over some lightly sweetish malt. It's not the brightest hop aroma but this is a session IPA at 5.2% ABV which basically makes it a pale ale. The taste is fuller but basically follows the aroma with the malt taking a much bigger role. I can't specifically pick out oats of wheat in the malt but it certainly seems that along with 2-row or Pilsner that would be the grain bill. The hops remain the same with the addition of some lemon and a tiny bit of grapefruit. It's firmly bitter and dry in the finish with pine, citrusy, and earthiness lingering. As might be expected the body is medium and it's crisp. I think it's a great beer but it's not one that steps away from the crowd.

12 fl. oz. can
Served in a snifter
This beer pours a dull, pale yellow color and is hazy. It is topped with a couple inches of beige head that leaves decent lacing.
Light citrus and lemongrass aroma
Mild citrus flavor with a little cracker malt flavor. Subtle grapefruit
Light bodied with a thin mouthfeel
As a denouncer of session IPAs I find this one ok.

12 oz can enjoy by date 1/31/24 into a Becher glass.
L; SRM 2 Pours murky light caramel color with a rounded 1/4" eggshell white head, good retention down to a thick skin, light carbonation bubbles, random skeletal, sticky med-thick lacing displaying light sheeting & banding.
S: Grapefruit, pineapple, citrus zest, lightly vinous, a hint of lemon.
T: Lightly tart & fruity hop notes, grapefruit, light melon rind, citrus zest, yeast, wheat notes, moderately floral, has lemon & citrus zest within a lingering finish.
F: Brisk, slightly voluminous, plush and lightly juicy medium-light bodied feel with a medium-long moderately dry finish.
O: A great tasting session IPA. Overall rather zesty, dry, and lightly bright. Full tastes with a light, crushable appeal. This is an excellent American Session IPA that should not be compared against standard IPAs. Its style characteristics check every box and it is genuinely excellent. I would buy this again.

From the can, it pours a slightly hazy light yellow color with a very nice white head that lasts and leaves lacing. The nose gets a dose of citrus and some pine, followed by a light malty flavored citrus tasting brew. Lighter in body, it finishes well with a pleasant aftertaste, such as there is.

Pours cloudy apricot orange with a huge white pillow of a head that leaves generous lacing. Aroma is citrus, some pine. Flavor follows the nose, plenty of flavor considering the low ABV. Slightly sweet with only a tough of bitterness in the finish Feel is light and fairly low in carbonation. Overall, a fine session IPA.
