650ml bottle.

It pours a light copper with a off-white head that leaves a lot of lacing as it recedes.

The smell is standard amber ale, not much, some hops make it stand out a bit form the pack.

the flavor is an atrocity, it is cloyingly sweet, unnaturally so, disgusting.

22 oz bottle poured into a Sierra Nevada imperial pint. Bottled during May Wk 3 '10 marked on the label.

A - This beer looks fantastic right away. A tall pour releases three fingers of dense and well-retained off-white, bone-colored head that has a tiny pinch of orange color to it. Superb lace coats the glass above the cloudy golden-orange beer.

S - Predominantly malty, Mr. Grain Jeans is all over the place. Anything specific is hard to pin down but I get notes of lightly toasted amber and caramel sweetness with just a pinch of a pils malt aroma to it. Hops are there and add to the nose but not in any sort of out-pouring way. Light citrus and floral notes balance it out well but the aroma is malt-heavy.

T - Mr. Grain Jeans, due to all of it's ingredients, is really elusive. It also took me by surprise. The flavor differs from the aroma nicely. Amber and pale malts have this grainy taste with a rye kick to the finish. Again, it's a malt-heavy beer but isn't volume heavy. The hops play a nice role of adding a slight kiss of floral citrus to the mix. Nice tasting.

M - I really like the mouthfeel when compared to the whole beer. It's medium-light bodied with a smooth entrance that rides nicely through to a light but well-balanced carbonation addition and a soft, dry finish.

D - Outpost comes through with a well-blended organic amber ale that combines a good nose and flavor with a smooth mouthfeel for a very nice drinking beer. This lighter amber should be a good step outside the box to a world of better beer for "light" beer drinkers and a welcomed pint for the seasoned craft beer lover.
