A fairly standard local grocery store type variety here, nothing particularly special.
Local, regional, national macros and imports. All within freshness dating.
Staff are friendly and fairly knowledgeable, though if you want to talk to somebody you have to ask for them to come over to the cooler section.
Plenty of parking so getting in and out isn't difficult at all. The one thing I like about Fred Meyer is once a week their new weekly ad will have some select local and regional offerings heavily discounted compared to other local grocery stores (most often 20% less than other stores) so I check their weekly add continuously.

I visited the Fred Meyer in Ballard today to check out their selection since I was in the neighborhood. They have a very solid, if not amazing, selection for a grocery store.
Of course, there is the large cooler aisle of macro lagers, but there is also a pretty decent selection of craft sixers and half-racks and a pretty good selection of bombers (again -- for a grocery store). Being in Ballard, there are tons of nearby places to get beer -- breweries aplenty, and Bottleworks not too far away. However, if you want groceries and a good selection of crafts in one stop, this is your place.
