Cask at the Number Twenty-2, Darlington. Golden colour, moderate white head. Moderate flowery aroma. Elderflowers? Floral and hoppy flavour.

Hand-pulled pint in the lovely old tourist pub 'Haunch of Venison', Salisbury, on 12th Oct 2013.
This comes a real pale golden colour, almost Lager-like and with the same white head s you'd expect on a Lager/Pilsner.
The aroma was both 'grainy' and hoppy in about equal measures, the hops just winning in the taste stakes with a mild citrus hint coming through. Dry finish to a pretty average brew that was almost boring and lacking any robustness of flavour or body depth. Subtle for some, bland for me.

The colour is gold/amber/orange. The off white head is low.
The smell got malty notes of brown toasts and some anonymous fruits
The taste is fruity with a unexpected note of paraffin wax, liver stew, a light bitterness and some medium-bodied malt. The aftertaste got fruity notes of elder flowers.
The carbonation is light - perfect for the style.

Gilbert's First Brew was Hop Back's first ever beer. Pours a golden honey colour with a brief off-white head. Leaves beads of lacing down the glass.
Aroma is very clean, hoppy and citrussy. Hoppy finish.
Taste is also citrussy, mildly hoppy and slightly nutty.
Clean mouthfeel and goes down very well. It is much weaker than Summer Lightning, but this allows many more in a session.
