on tap this is a real cool brew. fuller bodied and sweeter than most belgian pales, and way less hoppy. its hazy and yellow, not looking particularly remarkable, but emitting aromas of banana and pear from the yeast. the flavor has a lot of wheaty sweetness up front, maybe even some dextrose that didnt get enough time in a fermented, but it doesnt come across as a flaw, because the yeast really goes well with it. i expected and indeed hoped for more hops. more of a belgian strong than a belgian pale as we know them in that regard. long long finish too, dusty fruity yeast and some mellow white pepper spice. the sweetness lasts the longest, which isnt my favorite and definitely limits drinkability, but at 9% abv, how many was i really going to have? good to see twisted pine trying some new recipes out.

22oz bottle. Poured out a clear, golden yellow color with a small, khaki-colored head of foam. It left some sudsy trails of lace. It smelled of bubblegum, stone fruits, caramel and some spices. Sweet caramel and toffee taste with a fruity bite and touch of bitterness.
