Draft at Whole Foods Arlington, served in a standard shaker pint. The beer comes a brown-black in color with a nice topping of mocha head, quickly topped up by the bartender after it recedes. The nose and palate run fairly close together - deep sweet-roasted chocolate malt flavors and earthy undertones of whole peanuts. Bittersweet roast. The peanut presence isn’t exactly vivid, but comes through as a moderate, earthy nuttiness. The sweetness level is just right and in-balance - some earthy hops clean things up and impart a low bitterness, a little metallic until it warms up. Medium-full body and moderate carbonation. It’s a nice enough beer, but there’s not enough PB-chocolate play here to get the “rhesus” effect.
