Poured into a pint glass, the appearance was a semi-dark brown color almost black with a bar pour’s kind of slim white foamy head. Dissipates slow leaving some lace. The aroma had an estery sweet banana to slight clove-like spice trying to equate with the sweet wheat. Some dark chocolate. The flavor brings about the dark chocolate rolling over the sweet banana/clove-like esters. Dark chocolate, yes, but also some milk chocolate this time. Wheat bite is there with a decent little chocolatey banana/clove-like aftertaste throwing itself into the finish, fairly quick. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Mild carbonation throws itself against the wheat bite, feels somewhat controlled. Overall, pretty good as an American Dark Wheat ale.
