Had a bottle in safe keeping despite it's apparent retirement. It shows a clean golden tan color with a decent off-white head and similar streaks of lace. The aroma is a fairly different swampy vegetable and heavy biscuit oat grain goodness. Not bad. The flavor is sweet honey biscuit with a hint of lemon. It retains a vegetable base but it’s not all that bad. Body is medium-light with a tingly feel from fine carbonation. Plenty drinkable, moderately enjoyable. Being retires I guess it doesn't matter what I think, but not being much of a lager fan these days, I have to say this was fine.

Bottled by Barrington, but the label says Berkshire Mountain Brewers.

Starts with an impressive near-white head. Settles in a lumpy fashion. Leaves some chunky spots of lace. Very light haze on the dirty gold color.

Clean smelling with a fresh pale malt aroma. Just a touch of cream to the nose. Almost as an afterthought, there is a light raw, unmalted grain aroma. Appealing.

The flavor is closer to a grainy lawn mower beer. It does fit the style in terms of hop content and the body. Initial taste is pale grains. There is light bitterness in the swallow, but it does leave a decent aftertaste.

Poured a lught copper hue with a one finger foamy white head. There was good retention and decent lacing.

The smell featured a moderate sweet malt with a good dose of noble hop spice.

The taste was rather well balanced a consisted of a grainy malt, some sweet caramel and a musty and earthy hop spice. There was a good biscuity finish.

The mouthfeel was of average fullness for the style.

Overall a pretty good lager. Reminiscent of SA Boston Lager.

Had this from a 22 oz. bomber.

First of all, this is not a Vienna Lager, on any level. The label does say it is "Vienna Style", but I cannot find any Vienna attributes. With that said.

A yeasty, unfiltered look, with very little lacing. Smell is of corn mostly. Taste is all adjunct, mostly corn. Some metallics too. Mouthfell is ok, with some soft carbonation.

I will not be buying this one again, very disappointing. I seem to recall that previous versions were truer to style, but their bottling line has just started up again due to a major expansion of the non-brewing facilities, so they must have changed the recipe or mislabeled??

Poured from a 22 oz. bottle into a Harpoon UFO weizen glass.

A: Poured a yeasty-looking golden yellow, with a nice fluffy two-finger head of foam. Looks very solid and appealing, though for some reason, I was hoping for a dark Vienna.

S: Smells like sweet, buttery malted corn and grain. It doesn't smell terrific, but there is nothing to really turn you off in the way of aroma.

T: The taste on the other hand, might. That corn taste is in full effect here, which doesn't make me very happy. It's a bit much, bordering on a sweet, cornbread lager.

M: Mouthfeel is medium bodied, which makes the taste a little less bearable. I think a Vienna should be a bit more crisp than this, but maybe I'm just used to the Mexican breweries.

D: I couldn't see really going for another 22 of this any time soon. It's not really one to be taken down all by your lonesome either, but I'm sure its got a certain appeal for some.

Overall, this wasn't best Vienna lager I've had. As stated earlier, I prefer the Mexican takes on Vienna lager, whether it be a Negra Modelo for those who prefer dark beer, or a refreshing Bohemia for those who like to keep it light and traditional. I wouldn't really recommend this one.

Very good!!!

Pours darkish translucent gold with a fluffy head, good retention. Smells of malts and yeasts with some nuttiness. Taste follows well, with a medium bodied, mouthfilling enjoyable malty yeastiness that isn't too heavy nor too lacking. Light hops round out the tastes. A very well balanced brew that is now one of my favorite offerings from Barrington.

22oz bottle purchased at Domaney's Wines & Liquors, Great Barrington, MA.

Poured into an imperial pint glass, formed a 1/4" whitish head over the dark amber brew. Head is fleeting, with average lacing. Aroma is slightly nutty caramel malts, with slight hops notes. Flavor is similar to the nose, but without the notable taste characteristics I had expected. Mouthfeel is good, could use a bit more carbonation, and drinkability is fine as well. Nothing much stands out on this brew for me, but that doesn't make it bad, just keeps it from being great, in my mind.

This is a very light and yeasty brew--good for a session on a relatively warm night. While it pours a rather limp gold color, it seems to have active carbonation and a decent white head. The initial aroma is bready and just a little lemon in the background. The first taste is unexceptional, but I noticed lots of buttery and light malts as the flavor lingered a bit more. The carbonation was lighter to the palate than would have been predicted by the sight. A good, solid brew.

Not a big fan of the style but this is a very good, drinkable beer. gold, clear, beautiful head that stays put for a while. Low carbonationwhich makes this beer go down real smooth sweet aroma, kind of bready, low hops with some low level bitterness. I don't know how to score this beer because it is very nice and I would be happy to drink a lot of it but is is a great high scoring beer?

I am not a big fan of most lighter lagers, but I had a change of heart when I tried this. There is a hint of a yeast flavor which was unusual, but overpowering. The brew had a nice lingering head and a very refeshing flavor. I polished off a 22 ouncer like it was some kind of sweet long-sought water.
